Millennials in Denver: The Plan to Find a Job Once You Get Here

Did you know that Denver, CO ranked as the 3rd most popular city where Millennials have emigrated? According to a survey conducted by a leading national moving company, more Millennials moved to Dallas, TX than anywhere in the country, but that was followed closely by Chicago and then Denver. And many Millennials didn't move away for a job. In fact, among those who responded to the survey, 46% moved to a new area of the country in order to be with a partner or find love. Many others cited lifestyle concerns, such as restaurants or access to parks, as a major driver for why they moved.

This differs from conventional thinking that suggests people move because of school or a job. Instead, it appears that many Millennials are moving first before they may acquire full-time employment or enroll in school and are taking a chance that they'll find something once they get there. In some cases, this could mean being employed in a different field or taking a step back on the corporate ladder. For others, though, it could be a good opportunity to go back to school and find a new career that matches their own interests and opportunities in today's job market.

What to Look for in a School in Denver?

Have you moved to Denver or another area in Colorado to take advantage of the fresh air, beautiful topography, laid-back lifestyle, and skiing? We don't blame you. Once you have settled in, though, it might be a good time to take a look at your future prospects. Do you have a full-time job that you love? If not, why not consider going back to school. There are a number of colleges in Denver, CO that offer students degree programs in today's hottest fields.

What are today's hottest and most stable fields? Healthcare, information technology, paralegal, and criminal justice all usually rank among the top. In addition to that, consider your own personal needs. Do you plan on working as you attend school? Do you have any other familial obligations that may require you to have more flexible scheduling? Are you in need of financial aid? These are all considerations to make as you choose a school in Colorado.

If you're one of many Millennials who have decided to call Denver home, you might be considering what comes next. For those who are working in a field that they don't like or are underemployed, going back to school may make a whole lot of sense.
